I've been editing on Wikipedia since March 19, 2006. Most of my edits have been in two general areas of interest—baseball (especially some of the more obscure parts of baseball history, such asNegro leagues, earlyminor leagues, and early Latin American leagues) and the history of theAmerican West, especially theMormon settlement ofUtah. I occasionally also edit arandom article or make some improvements to an article I run across in adeletion discussion.
Sandy Koufax — My main contribution to this article was to add the in-line citations that were needed for it to survive aFeatured article review on March 8, 2007.
East-West League – I created the article on June 20, 2009 and it was featured on the Main page on June 27, 2009 with the question, "Did you know... thatNegro league baseball executiveCum Posey organized theEast-West League in 1932, but the league folded before the end of the season?"
Joe Cambria – It was featured on March 4, 2013 with the question, "Did you know... thatJoe Cambria was the firstMajor League Baseballscout to concentrate on recruiting players from Latin America?
Connie Marrero – I expanded this article from a stub. It was fun to discover that his baseball career was far longer and richer than indicated by his 39–40 major league record.
Satchel Paige - While it was a substantial article before I ever worked on it, I've been doing quite a bit of work adding references and expanding it.
Cuban League – This was an important league that, unforunately, is largely unknown by today's baseball fans. As an integrated league, during the 1920s you could find white major leaguers likeDolf Luque andMike González playing side by side with American and Cuban Negro league greats likeOscar Charleston,John Henry Lloyd, andMartín Dihigo. During its best seasons, the quality of play was probably comparable to the contemporarymajor leagues.
The Barnstar of Diligence. For singlehandedly takingSandy Koufax from a disgrace to featured articles to a well-sourced, comprehensive bio. Regardless of how the FAR turns out, it's an infinitely better article thanks to your work.Djrobgordon
The Running Man Barnstar, for distinguished efforts in a sports-related article. What can I say? I believe thatJosé would be pleased. Here's to ya. --Couillaud
