Originally released on September 1, 2021, byRepublic Records andMercury Records , the song received viral support onTikTok . Sanchez explained that the addressed "Georgia" refers to his girlfriend at the time, who he was in along-distance relationship with. He explains that he felt so undeserving of her love that he "pushed her away". The pair ended up reconnecting, but Sanchez says the song was written during the period where he had "lost her". The chorus line "I would never fall in love again until I found her" according to Sanchez, was him acknowledging that he would likely never find anyone else like her, and that he didn't want to "try and conjure up something similar or try and find someone similar…because it just would never happen."[ 2] [ 3] [ 4]
