Unnikrishnan Thiruvazhiyode (born 1942) is an Indiancivil servant and aMalayalam language novelist from the state ofKerala. He received theKerala Sahitya Akademi Award in 1992 for the novelDriksakshi.[1]
Unnikrishnan earnedBachelor of Science inPhysics fromGovernment Victoria College, Palakkad and then earned aBachelor of Education degree fromFeroke Training College. He later went on to earn Advanced Financial Management fromStrathclyde University, Scotland and in Public Sector Management fromLeeds University, United Kingdom.
He commenced his career as a teacher in 1963. He later joined theCentral Secretariat Service in 1966 and retired in year 2002 as Deputy Secretary toGovernment of India fromMinistry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises.
He was born in Thiruvazhiyode village inPalakkad district ofKerala, in 1942. He is married to Sridevi and has three children, Amrita, Namrata and Abhilash. The writer resides inNew Delhi.[2]
