Unni appam,unniyappam orkarollappam (Malayalam:ഉണ്ണിയപ്പം) is a small round snack made fromrice,jaggery,banana, roastedcoconut pieces, roastedsesame seeds,ghee andcardamom powder fried in oil.[1] Variations of this organic and spongy fried batter usingjackfruit preserves instead of banana are common. It is a popular snack inKerala. In Malayalam,unni means 'small' andappam means 'rice cake'.
