Undullah is a rurallocality split between theCity of Logan and theScenic Rim Region,Queensland, Australia.[3][4] In the2021 census, Undullah had a population of 24 people.[2]

Geography

Undullah is dominated by theFlinders Peak Group which rises towards its western boundary. Within the locality are the following mountains (from north to south):

Woollaman Creek, a tributary ofTeviot Brook, is the major waterway in the suburb.[11]

Very little of the area is developed with most of the rangelands covered by bush.[11]

History

TheUndullah is believed to be the wordnandulla from theBundjalung and/orYuggera languages meaning the silver leafed iron bark (eucalyptus melanophloia).[3][4]

Henry Herbert Elliott was an early settler who raised cattle.[12]

Formerly in theShire of Beaudesert, Undullah was split betweenLogan City andScenic Rim Region following the local government amalgamations in March 2008.

On 20 May 2016, the eastern part of Undullah (within Logan City) was excised to create the new localities ofFlinders Lakes andMonarch Glen and part of the new locality ofFlagstone.[3]

Demographics

In the2016 census, Undullah had a population of 45 people.[13]

In the2021 census, Undullah had a population of 24 people. It included the population of the newly-created locality ofFlinders Lakes.[2]

Education

There are no schools in Undullah. The nearest government primary schools areRipley Valley State School inSouth Ripley to the north,Flagstone State School inFlagstone to the east, andPeak Crossing State School inPeak Crossing to the west. The nearest government secondary schools areRipley Valley State Secondary College in South Ripley,Flagstone State Community College in Flagstone, andBremer State High School inIpswich to the north-west.[11]
