Unai Marrero Larrañaga (born 9 October 2001) is a Spanish professionalfootballer who plays as agoalkeeper forReal Sociedad.
Born inSan Sebastián,Gipuzkoa,Basque Country, Marrero joinedReal Sociedad's youth setup in 2016, fromCD Lagun Onak.[1] He made his senior debut withthe C-team on 14 September 2019, starting in a 1–2Tercera División away loss againstPasaia KE.[2]
Marrero made his professional debut withthe reserves on 10 October 2021, coming on as a first-halfsubstitute for outfield playerJon Karrikaburu asAndoni Zubiaurre wassent off in a 1–1 home draw againstSD Ponferradina in theSegunda División.[3] He was definitely promoted to the B's ahead of the2022–23 Primera Federación, and renewed his contract until 2027 on 12 July 2023.[4]
On January 2, 2024, Unai made his debut in aLa Liga match againstDeportivo Alavés, which was played at the Estadio de Anoeta and ended in a draw.[5][6]
Marrero was called up to theBasque Country national team for a friendly match againstPalestine on 15 November 2025.[7]
