Eight months after theUltimatum Wave, TheDefenders, having recently acquired superpowers, attackIron Man andHawkeye at the Triskelion facility. After a brief fight, Captain America,Zarda, andValkyrie arrive to help. The Defenders then teleport away, stealing the greatMjöllnir from Valkyrie in the process. Meanwhile in Central Park,Shanna,Ka-Zar, and theBlack Panther encounterLoki as he returns to Earth with theEnchantress and a swarm of monsters. At the same time,Hela offersThor a return to Earth from Valhalla in exchange for a son. It is also revealed that Tony Stark andCarol Danvers, director ofS.H.I.E.L.D., have become romantically involved.
