Sheikh Sayyid ˈAbdur-Rahmān al-Bukhāri[pronunciation?](1920 – 1 February 2014),[2][3] commonly known asUllal Thangal[1] and honoured with the titleTājul Ulamā[3]lit. 'Crown Among the Clerics',[4] was anIndianIslamic scholar.[4] He was the president ofSamastha,[1] Jamia Sa-adiya Arabic College,[5] Principal of the Sayyid Madani Arabic College, Ullal,[6] and theQazi ofUllal and several districts of Karnataka state.[6]
He was a prominent vice president of the Samastha Mushawara until the split of the Samastha in 1989 and AP Samastha's president thereafter.[4][1]
His grave is in Ettikulam,Kannur district of Kerala.[7][8][9]
