Ujiarpur is one of the 40Lok Sabha (parliamentary) constituencies inBihar state in easternIndia. This constituency came into existence in 2008, followingdelimitation of the parliamentary constituencies based on the recommendations of theDelimitation Commission of India.[1] All the six assembly constituency which constitute UjiarpurLok Sabha constituency are dominated byKushwahas(2 lakhs) andYadavs(1.8 lakhs) equally.[2][3]

Caste and communities

The Ujiarpur constituency has nearly 2 lakhKushwaha and 1.8 lakhYadav voters. Constituency was once won byAlok Kumar Mehta in 2004, but he lost toAshwamedh Devi, the widow of veteran Kushwaha leader Pradip Mahto in 2009. Nityanand Rai ofBhartiya Janata Party is representing the seat since 2014.[4]
