Houda Benyamina (born 1980) is a French director and screenwriter. She won theCannes Film FestivalCamera d'Or andCésar Award for Best First Feature Film for her 2016 filmDivines.
In 2013, Benyamina directed the short filmOn the Road to Paradise.[1] ForDivines, Benyamina won the Camera d'Or,[2] and Best First Film at the42nd César Awards on 24 February,[3] where she was also nominated forBest Director and shared a nomination forBest Original Screenplay.[4]
Benyamina was born inViry-Châtillon, Paris to a Moroccan father and Algerian mother.[1] Her family includes younger sisterOulaya Amamra.[5]
