UFC Fight Night: Santos vs. Walker (also known asUFC Fight Night 193,UFC Vegas 38 andUFC on ESPN+ 51) was amixed martial arts event produced by theUltimate Fighting Championship that took place on October 2, 2021 at theUFC Apex facility inEnterprise, Nevada, part of theLas Vegas Metropolitan Area, United States.[2]

A light heavyweight bout between formerUFC Light Heavyweight Championship title challengerThiago Santos andJohnny Walker headlined the event.[3]

A women's bantamweight bout betweenAspen Ladd andThe Ultimate Fighter: Heavy Hitters featherweight winnerMacy Chiasson was expected to take place at the event.[4] The pairing was initially scheduled forUFC on ESPN: Sandhagen vs. Dillashaw, but it was removed from that card on July 19 after Chiasson suffered astress fracture in her foot.[5] At the weigh-ins, Ladd weighed in at 137 pounds, one pound over the bantamweight non-title limit, leading to the fight cancellation.[6]

A light heavyweight bout betweenJimmy Crute andJamahal Hill was initially targeted for the event.[7] However, the bout was rescheduled in early September forUFC Fight Night: Font vs. Aldo two months later.[8]

A lightweight bout betweenCarlos Diego Ferreira andGrant Dawson was scheduled for the event.[9] However, Ferreira pulled out of the fight in early September citing an injury.[10] Dawson was then rescheduled to faceRicky Glenn atUFC Fight Night: Costa vs. Vettori.[11]

The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 2 welterweight winnerLeonardo Santos andAlexander Hernandez were expected to meet in a lightweight bout at the event.[12] However, Santos pulled out of the event due to undisclosed reasons.[13] He was replaced by Mike Breeden.[14]

At the weigh-ins, two other fighters missed weight for their respective bouts. Mike Breeden weighed in at 158.5 pounds, two and a half pounds over the lightweight non-title fight limit. FormerUFC Women's Bantamweight Championship challengerBethe Correia weighed in at 138.5 pounds, two and a half pounds over the women's bantamweight non-title fight limit. Both bouts proceeded at a catchweight with Breeden and Correia each fined 20% of their purses, which went to their opponentsAlexander Hernandez andKarol Rosa respectively.[15]
