A heavyweight bout betweenBen Rothwell and formerUFC Light Heavyweight Championship challengerAlexander Gustafsson was expected to take place at this event.[3] However, the fight was canceled after Rothwell was released from the organization in late March.[4] Gustafsson would go on to faceNikita Krylov in a light heavyweight bout atUFC Fight Night: Blaydes vs. Aspinall.[5]
Maxim Grishin was expected to faceJailton Almeida in a light heavyweight bout at the event.[6] However, Grishin pulled out due to undisclosed reasons in late April. Almeida decided to move up to heavyweight and facedParker Porter instead.[7]
