UFC Fight Night: Henderson vs. dos Anjos (also known asUFC Fight Night 49) was amixed martial arts event held on August 23, 2014, at theBOK Center inTulsa, Oklahoma.[2]

The event was headlined by Lightweight contendersBenson Henderson andRafael dos Anjos.[3]

The event is the second visit toTulsa, Oklahoma, the first beingUFC 4, nearly 20 years ago.[4]

Jordan Mein was expected to faceThiago Alves at the event. However, Alves pulled out of the bout with an injury and was replaced byBrandon Thatch.[5] Subsequently, Thatch also pulled out of the bout with Mein citing a toe injury.[6] In turn, Mein facedMike Pyle at the event, as Pyle's scheduled opponentDemian Maia, also pulled out of their bout with a staph infection.[7]

As a result of the cancellation ofUFC 176, bouts betweenBeneil Dariush vs.Anthony Rocco Martin,James Vick vs. Valmir Lazaro[8] andMatt Dwyer vs.Alex Garcia were rescheduled for this event. However, Dwyer was removed from his bout with Garcia and replaced byNeil Magny.[9]

Ernest Chavez was expected to faceMirsad Bektic at the event. However, Chavez was forced out of the bout with an injury and was replaced byMax Holloway.[10] In turn, Bektic pulled out of the bout in the week leading up to the event and was replaced by promotional newcomerClay Collard.[11]

Tim Elliott was expected to faceWilson Reis at the event. However, Elliott pulled out of the bout in the days leading up to the event. Reis faced promotional newcomer Joby Sanchez.[12]
