The event was the third UFC event in under two weeks along withUFC LIVE: Vera vs. Jones andUFC 111. The event also served as the lead-in program forThe Ultimate Fighter 11.
Cole Miller was scheduled to faceAndre Winner, but was forced from the card with an injury and replaced byRafaello Oliveira.[3]
A briefblackout occurred in theBojangles' Coliseum whenRoy Nelson vs.Stefan Struve was being announced.[4]
