UFC Fight Night: Allen vs. Curtis 2 (also known asUFC Fight Night 240, UFC on ESPN+ 98 andUFC Vegas 90) was a mixed martial arts event produced by theUltimate Fighting Championship that took place on April 6, 2024, at theUFC Apex facility inEnterprise, Nevada, part of theLas Vegas Metropolitan Area, United States.[2][3]
A middleweight bout between formerUFC Middleweight Championship challengerMarvin Vettori and formerLFA Middleweight ChampionBrendan Allen was expected to headline the event.[4] However on March 14, it was announced that Vettori was out due to an injury.[5] He was replaced byChris Curtis.[6] The pair previously met atUFC on ESPN: Font vs. Aldo in December 2021, which Curtis won by second round TKO.[7]
A featherweight bout between Morgan Charrière andChoi Seung-woo was scheduled for this event.[8] However, Choi withdrew for unknown reason and was replaced by Chepe Mariscal.[9]
A middleweight bout between Josh Fremd andCésar Almeida was scheduled for the event.[10] However, Fremd withdrew from the event for unknown reasons and was replaced by Dylan Budka.[11]
Jose Johnson and Lucas Rocha were expected to meet in a flyweight bout.[12] However, Johnson pulled out due to undisclosed reasons and was replaced byJoshua Van.[13] In turn, Rocha withdrew due to injury and the bout was scrapped.[14]
Alateng Heili was expected to face Victor Hugo in a bantamweight bout at the event.[15]However, Alateng pulled out due to illness on fight week and promotional newcomer Pedro Falcão stepped in as a replacement on three days' notice.[16][17]
