A flyweight bout between former title challenger (also formerLFA Flyweight Champion)Brandon Royval and formerRIZIN Bantamweight ChampionManel Kape was scheduled to take part at this event.[11] They were originally scheduled to headlineUFC Fight Night: Kape vs. Almabayev in a title eliminator, but Royval had to withdraw due to multiple concussions.[12] In turn, Kape pulled out this time on June 9 due to a broken foot and was replaced byJoshua Van.[13]

A lightweight bout betweenBeneil Dariush and former title challengerRenato Moicano took place at this event.[14] They were initially supposed to compete atUFC 311 but Moicano ended up challengingIslam Makhachev for the title in the main event on short notice.[15]

A heavyweight bout betweenJustin Tafa andJhonata Diniz was scheduled for this event.[16] However, Tafa withdrew from the fight for unknown reasons and was replaced by promotional newcomer Alvin Hines.[17]

A middleweight bout between formerUFC Middleweight Championship challengerPaulo Costa andRoman Kopylov was scheduled for this event.[18] However, for unknown reasons the bout was moved toUFC 318.[19]

Sedriques Dumas was scheduled to face undefeated promotional newcomer Jackson McVey at this event in a middleweight bout.[20] However, Dumas pulled out for unknown reasons and was replaced by another undefeated newcomer Christopher Ewert.[21] Ewert then proceeded to miss weight by 10 pounds and was cut the same day, forcing the fight to be cancelled.[22]
