The event marked the promotion's fourth visit to Salt Lake City and first sinceUFC 291 in July 2023.[2]

AUFC Light Heavyweight Championship bout between current champion (also formerUFC Middleweight Champion and formerGlory Middleweight andLight Heavyweight Champion)Alex Pereira andKhalil Rountree Jr. headlined the event.[3]

AUFC Women's Bantamweight Championship bout between current championRaquel Pennington and former champion (alsoThe Ultimate Fighter: Team Rousey vs. Team Tate bantamweight winner)Julianna Peña served as the co-main event.[4][5]

A middleweight bout betweenKevin Holland andChris Curtis was scheduled for this event.[6] However, Curtis withdrew from the fight due to a foot fracture and was replaced byRoman Dolidze.[7][8]

A light heavyweight bout between former interimUFC Light Heavyweight Championship challengerOvince Saint Preux and formerLFA Light Heavyweight ChampionRyan Spann was initially scheduled forUFC Fight Night: Burns vs. Brady.[9] However, on the week of the event, Saint Preux withdrew from the fight due to an illness, so the bout was moved to this event as a result.[10][11]

A lightweight bout betweenNate Landwehr and formerLFA Lightweight ChampionAustin Hubbard was reportedly scheduled for this event.[12] However, Landwehr withdrew from the bout for unknown reasons and was replaced byAlexander Hernandez on short notice.[13]

A featherweight bout between formerUFC Bantamweight ChampionAljamain Sterling andMovsar Evloev was scheduled for this event.[14] However, Sterling withdrew from the fight due to an injury sustained in sparring and the bout was scrapped.[15][16] The pairing was eventually rescheduled forUFC 310.[17]

Mauricio Ruffy was expected to participate in a lightweight bout at the event, but the promotion wasn't able to find an opponent and he was pulled from the card.[12][18]
