AUFC Women's Strawweight Championship bout between current two-time championZhang Weili andAmanda Lemos served as the co-headliner.[4]

The lightweight and bantamweight finals ofThe Ultimate Fighter: Team McGregor vs. Team Chandler took place at the event.[5]

FormerLFA Middleweight ChampionGregory Rodrigues and Denis Tiuliulin were expected to meet in a middleweight bout atUFC on ABC: Emmett vs. Topuria.[6] However, the bout was postponed to this event after Tiuliulin withdrew due to undisclosed reasons.[7]

A bantamweight bout between formerUFC Flyweight andBantamweight ChampionHenry Cejudo (also2008 Olympic gold medalist in freestyle wrestling) andMarlon Vera was expected to take place at the event.[8] However, Cejudo withdrew in late June due to a shoulder injury.[9] He was replaced byPedro Munhoz.[10]

A bantamweight bout betweenRob Font andSong Yadong was expected to take place at the event.[11] However, Yadong withdrew for unknown reasons and Font was instead scheduled to faceCory Sandhagen two weeks prior atUFC on ESPN: Sandhagen vs. Font as Sandhagen was in need of a new opponent.[12]

A welterweight bout betweenIan Machado Garry andGeoff Neal was expected to take place at the event.[13] However, Neal withdrew due to undisclosed health reasons.[14] He was replaced byNeil Magny.[15]

Former bantamweight championCody Garbrandt was scheduled to faceMario Bautista.[16] However, Garbrandt pulled out due to injury a week before the event.[17] He was replaced by Da'Mon Blackshear, who last fought a week before atUFC on ESPN: Luque vs. dos Anjos.[18]
