UFC 238: Cejudo vs. Moraes was amixed martial arts event produced by theUltimate Fighting Championship that was held on June 8, 2019 at theUnited Center inChicago, Illinois.[2][3]
The event was headlined by aUFC Bantamweight Championship bout for the vacant title between2008 Olympic gold medalist in freestyle wrestling and currentUFC Flyweight ChampionHenry Cejudo and formerWSOF Bantamweight ChampionMarlon Moraes.[4] Two-time championT.J. Dillashaw was suspended on March 20 due to a failed drug test in relation to hisJanuary loss against Cejudo for the flyweight title and therefore opted to vacate his title before having it stripped.[5] Cejudo became the third man to become UFC champion in two divisions simultaneously and fourth fighter overall (afterConor McGregor atUFC 205,Daniel Cormier atUFC 226 andAmanda Nunes atUFC 232), as well as the seventh person overall to win a title in different divisions.
AUFC Women's Flyweight Championship bout between the reigning championValentina Shevchenko andJessica Eye was the co-main event on the card.[6]
A strawweight bout betweenFelice Herrig andYan Xiaonan was scheduled for the event. However, it was reported on April 30 that Herrig withdrew from the event after suffering a tornACL and was replaced by formerInvicta FC Strawweight ChampionAngela Hill.[7]
