Tyberissus orTyberissos, alsoTyberisus orTyberisos (Ancient Greek:Τυβερισσός), was an inland town ofancient Lycia, near the ancient settlement ofTeimiussa that functioned as its port.[1] The name is not attested in history, but is derived from epigraphic and other evidence.[1] This combination of harbor and inland location is the focus of archaeological exploration.[2] Among the finds are tombs withLycian inscriptions.[3] Coins inscribed "ΤΥ" of typical Lycian type were probably minted here.[3]
Its site is located near the modern town ofTirmısın,Asiatic Turkey.[1][4]
