"Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Bat" is a verse recited by theMad Hatter inchapter seven ofLewis Carroll's 1865 novelAlice's Adventures in Wonderland. It is aparody of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star".[1]

Like a tea tray in the sky.[2]

The Hatter is interrupted in his recitation by theDormouse. "The Bat" was the nickname of ProfessorBartholomew Price, one of the Dons at Oxford, a former teacher of Carroll's and well known toAlice Liddell's family.[1]
