Turf Club is a suburb ofJohannesburg,South Africa. It is a small suburb south of theJohannesburg CBD and located next to the suburb ofTurffontein. It is located in Region F of theCity of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality.
Prior to the discovery of gold on theWitwatersrand in 1886, the suburb lay on land on one of the original farms calledTurffontein.[2] It became a suburb in 1923 and its name originates from the nearbyTurffontein Racecourse.[2]
