Tungsten(VI) oxytetrabromide is theinorganic compound with the formulaWOBr4. This a red-brown,hygroscopic solidsublimes at elevated temperatures. It formsadducts withLewis bases. The solid consists of weakly associatedsquare pyramidalmonomers.[2] The relatedtungsten(VI) oxytetrachloride has been more heavily studied. The compound is usually classified as anoxyhalide.
It can be produced by the reaction oftungsten hexabromide andtungsten trioxide:[3]
