Tullamore Town F.C. (Irish:Cumann Peile Tulach Mhór) is anIrish association football club based inTullamore,County Offaly, playing their home games atLeah Victoria Park. Their senior men's team competes in theLeinster Senior League.[1][2] They have previously played in theA Championship and theLeague of Ireland B Division.[3][4]
Their U19 and U17 men's teams play in the Combined Counties Football League, as do their U17 women's team.[5] The club previously played their home games at Terry Adams Park.[6]
The club was founded in 1941.[7] By 1967, Tullamore Town were playing in theLeague of Ireland B Division.[8] They qualified for the 1966–67 FAI Cup but lost toBohemians in the first round.[9] Former League of Ireland playerRay Keogh became player-manager and led the team to the 1970–71FAI Intermediate Cup as well as a League of Ireland B Division title.[4][10] They suffered an 8–0 defeat to UCD in 1979 and finished bottom of the 1980–81 table but improved to finishes of 3rd and 5th in the 1983–84 and 1984–85 seasons respectively.[11]
Tullamore made it to the second round of the2004 FAI Cup, losing 3–0 toAthlone Town.[12]
