Tuburan, officially theMunicipality of Tuburan (Tausūg:Lupah Tuburan;Chavacano:Municipalidad de Tuburan;Tagalog:Bayan ng Tuburan), is amunicipality in theprovince ofBasilan,Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 24,742 people.[5]
In 2006, the municipalities ofAkbar andHadji Mohammad Ajul were created from Tuburan,[6][7] reducing its number ofbarangays from 30 to 10.
Tuburan is politically subdivided into 10barangays.[8] Each barangay consists ofpuroks while some havesitios.
