"Tu canción" (transl. Your song) is a song recorded by Spanish singersAmaia Romero andAlfred García –credited as Amaia y Alfred–, written and composed by Raúl Gómez and Sylvia Santoro. The song was released as a digital download on 28 January 2018 throughUniversal Music Spain. Itrepresented Spain in theEurovision Song Contest 2018 inLisbon, Portugal. It finished in twenty-third place.[1]
An English-language version, "Your Song", was released as a digital download on 27 April 2018.[2] The lyrics were adapted into English byPaula Rojo.[3]
"Tu canción" was written and composed by Raúl Gómez and Sylvia Santoro.[4][5]
On 4 December 2017,Radioelevisión Española (RTVE) confirmed that they would use the music reality programOperación Triunfo to select their act for the63rd edition of theEurovision Song Contest.[6] It was later revealed on 20 December that the final five singers of the program'sninth series would perform in "Gala Eurovisión", which would be where the Spanish public would choose both the song and its performers for Eurovision.[7] The nine competing songs were unveiled on 23 January 2018.[8][9][10] Gala Eurovisión was held on 29 January where Alfred y Amaia performed "Tu canción" live for the first time. The song was one of the top three songs in the first round of voting, qualifying to the second round where it won with 43% of the vote becoming theSpanish entrant for Eurovision.[11][12]
On 13 February, they performed the song again on Gala OT Fiesta ofOperación Triunfo 2017.[13] On 26 February, they performed an acoustic version on talk showEl Hormiguero onAntena 3.[14] On 11 March, they performed the acoustic version on talk showViva la vida onTelecinco.[15] Alfred & Amaia performed the song on thePremios Dial awards show at theAuditorio de Tenerife inSanta Cruz, aired live onDivinity on 15 March.[16] On 24 March, they performed the song on theLa noche de Cadena 100 charity concert at theWiZink Center inMadrid, aired live on Divinity.[17] On 25 March, they performed as guests on competitive dance reality television seriesFama, ¡a bailar! [es], aired on#0.[18]
On 5 April, they performed during theLondon Eurovision Party, which was held at theCafé de Paris venue inLondon, United Kingdom. They also performed during theIsrael Calling event which was held atRabin Square inTel Aviv, Israel on 10 April. On 14 April, Alfred & Amaia performed during theEurovision in Concert event which was held at theAFAS Live venue inAmsterdam, Netherlands. On 21 April, they performed the song during theEurovision-Spain Pre-Party event which will was held at the Sala La Riviera venue in Madrid.[19] On 27 April, they performed the English version "Your Song" for the first time during the concert eventAmaia, Alfred y amigos.[3]

On 12 May 2018, the final of the Eurovision Song Contest was held at theLisbon Arena inLisbon hosted byRádio e Televisão de Portugal (RTP) and broadcast live throughout the continent and abroad. As Spain is a member of the "Big Five", the song automatically advanced to the final.[20][21] Amaia y Alfred performed "Tu canción" second on the evening.[22] At the end of voting, it placed twenty-third out of the twenty-six participating countries with 61 points: 43 from the professional juries and 18 from the televote.[1]
The official video of the song, directed by Gus Carballo, was filmed in February 2018 at studio inMadrid. The video premiered on 9 March 2018 on a specialprime time broadcast onLa 1, hosted byRoberto Leal.[23][24]
