TheTriulatti (Gaulish: *Triulat(t)oi, 'the three rulers') were aGallic tribe dwelling in theFrench Alps during theIron Age.
They are mentioned asTriullati byPliny (1st c. AD).[1]
The ethnic nameTriulatti is a latinized form ofGaulish *Triulat(t)oi, meaning 'the three rulers'. It stems from the prefixtri- ('three') attached toulatos ('prince').[2]
The Triulatti dwelled in the southern part of the French Alps. Their exact location remains uncertain. According toGuy Barruol, they may have been part of thecivitas of theSentii.[3]
They are mentioned by Pliny the Elder as one of the Alpine tribes conquered by Rome in 16–15 BC, and whose name was engraved on theTropaeum Alpium.[1]
