Triphenylethanol, or1,1,2-triphenylethanol, is anorganic compound with acondensed structural formula of(C

5, and is related totriphenylethylene, from which it can be prepared byhydration. It is thestructural analog of twodrugs, the never-marketedantiestrogenethamoxytriphetol (MER-25)[1]: 7 and the withdrawnlipid-lowering agenttriparanol,[2] as both contain the 1,1,2-triphenylethanolmoiety within their structure.
