The Travancore Cochin Chemicals Ltd., abbreviated asTCC, is apublic sector undertaking owned by theGovernment of Kerala, engaged in the manufacture and marketing ofcaustic soda (NaOH),chlorine,hydrochloric acid andsodium chlorate.[1] It is situated inUdyogamandal industrial district ofKochi,India.

The TCC exports caustic soda toAfrican countries.[2] The company recorded a profit of32 crore in 2018 up from₹6 crore in 2017.[2]

History

The Travancore Cochin Chemicals Ltd. was founded in 1949 as a partnership between Mettur Chemical & Industrial Corporation Limited andFACT. It was later acquired by theGovernment of Travancore–Cochin. In 1960, it became under theGovernment of Kerala.[3]
