Totalplay is a Mexican telecommunication company owned byGrupo Salinas and operated byGrupo Totalplay, offers cable television,fiber optic internet andfixed telephony services in theTriple andQuadruple play market.

History

In 2004 the mobile phone companyGrupo lusacell (now AT&T México) would introduce theoptical fiber network throughout Mexico.

During the expansion of optical fiber, they would begin to offer broadband andVoIP services, as well as pay television underInternet Protocol television.

In September 2010, Totalplay Telecomunicaciones, S.A. de C.V. was officially founded after an agreement between lusacell andGrupo Salinas, starting with beta users who would test the initial service. It would also serve as a replacement for the failedDTT serviceHi-tv [es].[2] Totalplay would only offer Live TV andVideo on Demand services, and in 2011 Totalplay would be available for the Mexican market offering directfiber-to-the-home (FTTH), high-speed broadband,HD andinteractive TV.

In 2014 Grupo Salinas would acquire all of Totalplay after the purchase of lusacell byAT&T Latin America [es],[3] in June 2021 the company would create its Colombian subsidiary Totalplay Colombia which by September 2022 had 6,000 users in the metropolitan area ofBogotá,[1] Totalplay would be listed on theBolsa Institucional de Valores (BIVA) on November 22, 2021.[4] on 1 November 2022, the Totalplay TV option for laptops would stop working.

Totalplay-offerspay television service,VoD, fiber optic internet and fixed telephony in its normal package, including interactive television with variousstreaming platforms.[5] It also offers theTotalplay Hogar Seguro (Secure House) service, which includesexterior cameras andalarms.[6]

Totalplay Empresarial

Totalplay Empresarial is the business service for businesses andcompanies which includes pay television, internet (SD-WAN under theUNNO sub-brand),[7]cybersecurity, etc., as well as alarms and security cameras.[8]
