Toro Muerto (English:Dead Bull) is a collection of ancientpetroglyphs in thePeruvian coastal desert, found in theCastilla province in the regionArequipa inPeru. The site contains some 3000 volcanic rocks with petroglyphs dating back to theWari culture,[1] active from 500 to 1000 AD. TheWari (Spanish:Huari) were aMiddle Horizon civilization that flourished in the south-centralAndes and coastal area of modern-dayPeru.[2]
