Torin Jamal Francis (born June 26, 1983) is an American professionalbasketball player forLa Union de Formosa of theArgentine Basketball League. He is 6'103⁄4" (2.10 m) tall and he plays at thecenter position. He has played professionally in Greece, Israel, Germany, Turkey, Belgium, and Italy.
Francis playedcollege basketball in the United States at theUniversity of Notre Dame with theNotre Dame Fighting Irish.
During his professional career, Francis has played with theItalian League clubsOrlandina Basket andCantù. He has also played with theGreek League clubsAEL 1964,AEK Athens, andPanellinios Basket. He has also played with theIsraeli League clubHapoel Jerusalem and theTurkish League clubBornova Belediye.
He was signed byPanellinios in January 2011.[1]
In July 2011 he signed a two-year contract withAlba Berlin inGermany.[2]
In the summer of 2012, he signed a contract withAliağa Petkim.[3]
On November 26, 2014, he signed with Belgian teamSpirou Charleroi.[4]
In November 2015, he signed with Argentinian teamLa Union de Formosa.[5]
In the summer of 2017, Francis, for the fourth year in a row, competed inThe Basketball Tournament onESPN for D.C. on Point. Competing for the $2 million grand prize, Ramón scored 15 points and grabbed nine rebounds in 30 minutes of play as D.C. on Point fell 80–75 to Team FOE, aPhiladelphia based team coached byNBA forwardsMarkieff andMarcus Morris. Prior to 2017, Francis competed for Southern Hospitality in 2016 and for theNotre Dame Fighting Alumni in 2014 and 2015.[6]
