Tony Wu Tsz-tung (Chinese:胡子彤; born 16 April 1992) is a Hong Kong actor and former baseball player best known for his debut role in the sports filmWeeds on Fire (2016), which earned himBest New Performer in the36th Hong Kong Film Awards.
Wu was born on 16 April 1992, in Hong Kong.[1] He became interested inbaseball at a young age and was selected as a member of the Hong Kong Youth Olympics representative team at the age of 10.[2] He had his secondary education atChristian Alliance Cheng Wing Gee College and participated in the2010 Asian Games and2014 Asian Games.[1][3] After graduation, he attended theHong Kong Baptist University College of International Education to pursue anassociate's degree and continued to play baseball in the Hong Kong team.[4][3]
In 2016, Wu auditioned and won his debut role as Fan Chun-wai, a troublemaking baseball player, in the sports filmWeeds on Fire.[5] He wonBest New Performer in the36th Hong Kong Film Awards with his performance.[6] He was selected to join the Hong Kong team once again in the2018 Asian Games,[3] but dropped out due to scheduling conflicts with a film project.[7] He also landed a major role inSunny Chan's first feature filmMen On The Dragon [zh].[8] In 2020, Wu received his first major television role in theViuTV drama seriesWho Sells Bricks in Hong Kong [zh].[9] From 2021 to 2022, he was cast in a lead role in the drama filmI Still Remember [zh] and anthology filmSeptet: The Story of Hong Kong.[10][11] He also appeared in the action thriller filmsRaging Fire,[12]Detective vs Sleuths,[13] sports filmZero to Hero,[14] and sci-fi filmWarriors of Future.[1]
