Thomas Billington (born December 15, 2001), better known by his ring nameTommy Billington, is an English professional wrestler. He is signed toAll Elite Wrestling (AEW).
He is the nephew of the lateDynamite Kid and has gained recognition for his high-flying style and technical prowess. In 2018, Billington began his career as one-half of atag team with his brother Mark Billington, known as theBillington Bulldogs.
Billington was born inGolborne, Wigan, England. Growing up in a wrestling family, he was inspired by his uncle, theDynamite Kid, and began training at a young age under the guidance ofMarty Jones,Davey Boy Smith Jr., andBret Hart.[1]
Billington made his professional wrestling debut in 2018, teaming with his brother Mark as theBillington Bulldogs. They competed in various independent promotions across the UK and Canada, gaining attention for their dynamic teamwork and homage to their uncle's legacy.[2]
In 2022, the Billington Bulldogs became the inaugural Dungeon Wrestling Tag Team Champions after defeating theBollywood Boyz at the Unfinished Business pay-per-view.[3]
On October 14, 2022, it was reported onMajor League Wrestling's official website that Billington Bulldogs would make their MLW debut by teaming with their cousinDavey Boy Smith Jr. (the son ofDavey Boy Smith, Dynamite Kid's cousin and tag team partner) against Bomaye Fight Club (Alex Kane,Myron Reed and Mr. Thomas) atFightland.[4] Prior to their debut, the Billington Bulldogs had furthered their training under the tutelage of Smith andBret Hart.[5] Smith and the Billington Bulldogs won the match, which aired on the January 12, 2023 episode ofFusion, marking their televised debut in MLW.[6] On November 16, it was reported that Billington Bulldogs had officially signed a multi-year contract with MLW.[7] On the February 21, 2023 episode ofUnderground Wrestling, Billington Bulldogs defeatedThe Full Blooded Italians (Little Guido and Ray Jaz).[8] Billington Bulldogs continued their feud with Bomaye Fight Club as they were scheduled to take on Reed and Thomas in a match atBlood and Thunder,[9] which aired on the March 7 episode ofUnderground Wrestling.[10] This was their last match in MLW and they quietly departed MLW shortly after as their profiles were removed from MLW's roster section by April.[11]
Billington made hisAll Elite Wrestling (AEW) debut on the May 11, 2024 episode ofCollision, facingDax Harwood in a losing effort.[12] His performance was well-received, and in August 2024, it was reported that he had signed a contract with AEW.[13]
Billington continues to honor his family's wrestling heritage, often paying tribute to his uncle through his in-ring style and attire. He remains close with his brother Mark, with whom he has achieved significant success as a tag team.[14]
Debuting in 2019, Mark and Thomas, the nephews of the Dynamite Kid, have recently been training for their upcoming January 7th MLW bout with their cousin Davey Boy and another distant relative in Canada: Bret "Hitman" Hart.
