Tom and Jerry in New York is an American animated television series that premiered onBoomerang andHBO Max on July 1, 2021, and ended on November 18, 2021. It is based on theTom and Jerry characters and theatrical cartoon series created byWilliam Hanna andJoseph Barbera and is a sequel series to the filmTom & Jerry (2021).
With episodes directed byDarrell Van Citters, the show has the same art style asThe Tom and Jerry Show with the original crew returning along withWilliam Hanna (via archive recordings) as the voices ofTom andJerry.
Each episode usually consists of four segments: the first, second, and fourth segments are 5–6 minutes long, and the third segment runs 4 minutes. It features the voices ofJoey D'Auria, Rick Zieff and Sam Kwasman.
Set after the events of the2021 film, the series followsTom andJerry having new adventures in the Royal Gate Hotel and all overNew York City.[1]

On May 28, 2020, on the official WarnerMediaTwitter, the day after the streaming service's launch date, posted a video of current and upcoming content heading to and/or on the site, among the end portion of the video listing next-yearMax Originals and squeezed in-betweenTig n' Seek andCirce, wasTom and Jerry under a new title ofin the Big City.[7]
On June 10, 2021, WarnerMedia officially announced the series with its original title ofTom and Jerry in New York, which premiered on HBO Max starting July 1, 2021.
Renegade Animation'sDarrell Van Citters andAshley Postlewaite who producedThe Tom and Jerry Show during the last decade have returned in the same roles, with Van Citters also directing again.
