Thomas Alan White (born 9 May 1997) is an English professionalfootballer who plays as amidfielder forNational League clubBoreham Wood.
After playing for a boys clubs with future Blackburn teammateAdam Armstrong and youth football forCarlisle United, he signed forGateshead at the age of 18.[3] His time with Gateshead was hindered by injury, and in 2016 the club initially withdrew their offer of a professional contract due to his injuries.[4] He remained with the club to use their training facilities as he recovered,[4] and he also spent loan spells atSpennymoor Town (signing for them in January 2017[5]),West Auckland Town (signing for them in September 2017[6]),Ashington (signing for them in November 2017[7]) andScarborough Athletic (signing for them in January 2018[6]). During this time he relied on borrowing money from his parents for petrol so he could get to training.[4] The 2018–19 season was a "breakthrough" for him at the club as he made 43 league appearances for them that season.[4]
He signed a two-year contract withBlackburn Rovers in July 2019.[8][9][10] At Blackburn he initially played with the under-23 team,[4] before moving on loan toBarrow in November 2019.[11][12] In January 2020 he extended the loan until the end of the season,[13] and later that month recovered from a chest infection.[14] The loan deal had ended by 22 April 2020.[15]
On 28 July 2020 he moved on loan toBolton Wanderers for the 2019–20 season.[16] His debut came on 5 September in Bolton's first match of the season, a 1–2 home defeat againstBradford in the first round of theEFL Cup.[17] His league debut came on 12 September in Bolton's first league match of the season, a 1-0 home defeat againstForest Green Rovers.[18] On 2 February 2021, his loan spell came to an end and he returned to Blackburn.[19] On 5 February 2021, White signed forNational League sideHartlepool United on a short-term loan deal.[20] The loan was then extended until 15 May 2021.[21]
On 14 May 2021 it was announced that White would leave Blackburn at the end of the season, following the expiry of his contract.[22] On 8 June 2021 it was announced that he would re-sign forBarrow on a permanent contract after that time.[23][24]
White signed forMorecambe in July 2024.[25] On 4 August 2025, White announced on X, formerlyTwitter, that he was leaving Morecambe due to the club's financial difficulties.[26][27]
On 5 August 2025, White joinedBoreham Wood.[28]
White earned two caps withEngland C during the 2018–19 season.[3]
