Tom McArdle is an Americanfilm editor. He is best known for editing the filmSpotlight (2015), which earned a nomination for theAcademy Award for Best Film Editing at the88th Academy Awards[1][2][3] and also won theIndependent Spirit Award for Best Editing.[4]
McArdle edited 7 films written and directed byTom McCarthy, includingThe Station Agent (2003),The Visitor (2007),Win Win (2011) andStillwater (2021).
Other notable films McArdle has edited includeMarshall (2017),In a World... (2013) andTimmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made (2020). He joined theAcademy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 2016. A graduate ofDartmouth College,[5][circular reference] McArdle grew up inGarden City, New York. In 1987, McArdle was ranked 4th among US high-schoolers in the 3200 meter run with a time of 8:55.2.[6] He currently holds the Nassau County (Section 8) indoor record for the 3200 meter run with a time of 9:02.5[7] from 1987.
