Thomas Byrne (13 April 1934 – 4 April 2006) was anIrishFine Gael politician.
He was educated atSt Mary's College,Galway, and trained as a National School teacher atSt Patrick's College of Education,Drumcondra, Dublin.[1]
He stood unsuccessfully forDáil Éireann at the1969,1973 and1977 general elections.[2] He was elected toSeanad Éireann in 1981 for theLabour Panel constituency.[3] He was re-elected at the 1982 election but lost his seat at the 1983 Seanad election.[3] He was a member ofGalway County Council for theLoughrea area from 1967 to 1999.
