Tobias Huss (born December 9, 1966) is an American actor. He portrayed Artie in theNickelodeon seriesThe Adventures of Pete & Pete (1993–1996), performed voice-over work on the animated seriesBeavis and Butt-Head (1994–1997, 2011, 2022–present) as well as its two animated films,Beavis and Butt-Head Do America (1996) andBeavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe (2022), voicing various characters including the character Todd Ianuzzi, andKing of the Hill (1997–2010, 2025–present), voicing the charactersKahn Souphanousinphone andCotton Hill in the initial run of the series, and later replacingJohnny Hardwick as the voice ofDale Gribble in the revival series. He also portrayed Felix "Stumpy" Dreifuss onHBO'sCarnivàle (2003–2005).^[1] and John Bosworth on theAMC original period dramaHalt and Catch Fire.^[2]

Huss was born on December 9, 1966, inMarshalltown,Iowa, to Gerald and Elma Huss. His father was a high school chemistry teacher, and his mother was a cosmetics sales representative.^[3][4] He attended theUniversity of Iowa,^[3] where he participated inNo Shame Theatre before moving toLos Angeles to pursue an acting career.^[5]

In the early 1990s, Huss appeared in network promos forMTV, playing characters such as Ol' Two Eyes, who sang lounge-singer versions ofDr. Dre's "Dre Day",Cypress Hill's "Insane in the Brain",Pearl Jam's "Jeremy", andOnyx's "Slam"; aJames Bond-like spy named Cobalt; aleather fetishist with an abnormal affection for goats; a "flannel-wearing doofus"; and an angryredneck named Reverend Tex Stoveheadbottom, who delivered fast-talking and descriptively detailednon sequitur tirades that usually included the phrase, "Go to Hell!". From 1993–1996, he played Artie, the Strongest Man in the World onNickelodeon'sThe Adventures of Pete & Pete. Other notable roles include the voices ofCotton Hill andKahn Souphanousinphone onKing of the Hill and "the Wiz", a boyfriend ofElaine Benes, in theSeinfeld episode "The Junk Mail".

From his parodies ofFrank Sinatra, which were featured in the filmsVegas Vacation andDown Periscope, and the showHalt and Catch Fire, Huss has created a Sinatra-inspired character named Rudy Casoni.^[4] Huss released a 2003 album under Casoni's name calledS'no Balls.^[6] As Huss put it in an interview withPaper, "You’d think he was a normal crooner, then he kind of gets dark."^[7]

In the 2025 revival ofKing of the Hill, Huss now also voicesDale Gribble, whose original voice actorJohnny Hardwick died in 2023.^[8]

In 2025, Huss would gain a more notable motion picture role as Captain Ed Locke inWeapons.^[9]

Huss is a single father and has one daughter.^[10] He is also amultidisciplinary artist, painter, and photographer.^[11]
