Tkhtml is a discontinuedopen-sourcebrowser engine written inC using theTkwidget toolkit.[1][2] It was used primarily by theHtml Viewer 3 (Hv3) minimalistweb browser.
Version 1 was written using the XF application builder, but because of functionality reasons this part was rewritten.[2] In 2006, it was announced that a public build of Tkhtml Alpha 10 had passed theAcid2 test.[3]
To run Tkhtml, theTcl/Tk framework needed to be installed.[2] Then the standardwish interpreter needed to be replaced by the wwwish interpreter to use theWYSIWYG previewing function.[2] Tkhtml can still be run through the use of bindings to other programming languages. The TkinterWeb package, for example, can be used to embed Tkhtml inPythonTkinter applications.[4]
