In the 1996–97 season, Tiszakécske finished first in the second division and was promoted to the first division of the Hungarian League.Tiszakécske FC debuted in the1997–98 season of theHungarian League and finished fifteenth. The relegation play-offs were lost 1-1, 2–1 againstIII. Kerületi TVE and the club were relegated.[2]
