Tisri is a village in theTisriCD block in theKhori Mahuwa subdivision of theGiridih district in theIndianstate ofJharkhand.

Tisri is located at24°34′28″N86°03′32″E / 24.574444°N 86.058889°E /24.574444; 86.058889.
Giridih district is a part of theChota Nagpur Plateau, with rocky soil and extensive forests. Most of the rivers in the district flow from the west to east, except in the northern portion where the rivers flow north and north west. ThePareshnath Hill rises to a height of 4,479 feet (1,365 m). The district has coal and mica mines. It is an overwhelmingly rural district with small pockets of urbanisation.[1][2][3]

According to the2011 Census of India, Tisri had a total population of 3,786, of which 2,026 (54%) were males and 1,760 (46%) were females. Population in the age range 0–6 years was 644. The total number of literate persons in Tisri was 2,356 (74.98% of the population over 6 years).[4]
