TheTiruchirappalli Cantonment (originallyTrichinopoly Cantonment) is a residential neighbourhood in the city ofTiruchirappalli. It originated as acantonment of theMadras Regiment in the 18th century. Most of thehotels andrestaurants and the main tourist office andpost office of Tiruchirappalli are located here.[1] TheTiruchirappalli Junction is also located in the cantonment area.[1]
