The compound is insoluble in water.

Chemical properties

Tin(II) stearate reacts withsodium hydroxide solution orhydrochloric acid to form thetin(II) chloride or tin(II) chloride hydroxide.[4]

Uses

The compound is used in the pharmaceuticals and cosmetics industries as athickener, film-forming polymer, andrelease agent.[4]
