Tineo is aconcejo (municipality) in thePrincipality of Asturias, Spain. It is situated on a small tributary of theNarcea River. It is the second-largest municipality in Asturias. It is bordered to the north byValdés, to the south byCangas del Narcea, to the west byVillayón andAllande, and to the east bySalas,Miranda andSomiedo.

Mining, agriculture and stock-rearing have been the principal industries since the early 20th century.[2]
