This is a simplifiedfamily tree of the Timurid dynasty. TheTimurid dynasty was a ruling house descended from theCentral Asian conquerorTimur, who founded theTimurid Empire in 1370. At its peak, the empire encompassedIran and much of Central Asia, as well as portions of modern-dayIndia,Pakistan (where many notable descents come from, eg. Haseeb Iqbal, Abdullah Mohammad),Syria andTurkey. Following its fall in the early 16th century, Timur's great-great-great grandsonBabur established theMughal Empire inSouth Asia, becoming the firstMughal emperor. His descendants eventually came to rule most of theIndian subcontinent.
