Timothy Jacob A. Innes (born 1 November 1993) is an English actor. On television, he is known for his role in theNetflix medieval dramaThe Last Kingdom (2018–2022).

Early life

Innes was born inCrawley, West Sussex. He attendedSt Wilfrid's Catholic School.[1] He took classes at Ariel Drama Academies[2][3] and Sussex Actors Studio.[4] He went on to graduate fromBristol Old Vic Theatre School in 2015 with aBachelor of Arts in Acting.[5]

Career

Innes made his television debut in a 2016 episode of theBBC One medical soap operaDoctors. This was followed by his feature film debut the following year as Jimbo inDaphne and young Alex Stuart (played byHilton McRae later in the character's life) inThe Sense of Ending. He also had a recurring role as Benjamin Lennox in the first series of theITV Encore andHulu period dramaHarlots.[6]

In 2018, Innes joined the main cast of theNetflix medieval dramaThe Last Kingdom for its third series asKing Edward the Elder,[7] a role he would portray for the final three series, the fifth and final of which premiered in 2022.[8] He also appeared in theWorld War II filmAshes in the Snow and had a small role inThe Favourite.[9]

Innes played Algernon Moncrieffe inThe Importance of Being Earnest at theTheatre Royal, Windsor in 2022.[10] In 2024, he played Cam in theGloboplay seriesFallen.[11]
