Timothy Anthony Moynihan (September 23, 1907 – April 4, 1952) was an Americanfootball player and coach. He played professionally for two seasons in theNational Football League (NFL) with theChicago Cardinals. Moynihan played as acenter at theUniversity of Notre Dame under head coachKnute Rockne and was a member of the undefeated1929 team. He served as an assistant football coach at Notre Dame,Texas,Denver, andGeorgetown.[1] He coached interscholastic football atSt. Xavier College inCincinnati.[2] He coached baseball at theUniversity of Denver.[3]
Moynihan was one of 11 All-American football players to appear in the 1930 filmMaybe It's Love.[4]
He died inLos Angeles on April 4, 1952, from injuries sustained during an automobile accident.[5]
