Timothy S. Guinee (born November 18, 1962)^[1]is an American stage, television, and feature-film actor. Primarily known for his roles as Tomin in the television seriesStargate SG-1 (1997–2007) and railroad entrepreneurCollis Huntington inHell on Wheels (2011–2016), he appeared in theMarvel Cinematic Universe (MCU)feature filmsIron Man (2008) andIron Man 2 (2010) as United States Air Force Major Allen, and as struggling father and retired majorClay Wilson in thefirst season of thestreaming televisionseriesThe Punisher (2017–2019).

Timothy S. Guinee was born inLos Angeles, California and raised inIllinois andTexas.^[2][3] As a child, he enjoyed nature, and he wrote toJacques Cousteau at the age of 13.^[4]

He attendedKinder High School for the Performing and Visual Arts inHouston, Texas.^[5]

He moved toNew York City in order to attend theAmerican Academy of Dramatic Arts.^[6] He later attended theUniversity of North Carolina School of the Arts inWinston-Salem, where he graduated and had his film debut.^[7][8]

Guinee is known for his role as Tomin in the television seriesStargate SG-1. In 2005, he starred as record producerSam Phillips in the Golden Globe® Award-winning miniseriesElvis. Guinee stars as Ben Matheson inRevolution.^[9]

He was a cast regular inAMC'sHell on Wheels, playing railroad entrepreneurCollis Huntington.Hell on Wheels aired on AMC from November 6, 2011, to July 23, 2016.^{[citation needed]}

Guinee met his wife Daisy Foote, during the production ofHallmark Hall of Fame: Lily Dale (1996). Foote is the daughter of 1962 Academy Award–winning screenwriter and Pulitzer Prize–winnerHorton Foote, who adaptedLily Dale for the film himself.^[10] They live inMarbletown, New York in theHudson Valley.^[11]

Guinee is a volunteerfirefighter, having decided to become one after theSeptember 11 attacks, as well as after his house burned down.^[12]
