Tilaru railway station is a railway station onKhurda Road–Visakhapatnam section, part of theHowrah–Chennai main line underWaltair railway division ofEast Coast Railway zone. It is situated besideNH 16 atTilaru inSrikakulam district in the Indian state ofAndhra Pradesh.[1][2]
In between 1893 and 1896, the coastal railway track fromCuttack toVijayawada was built and opened to traffic byEast Coast State Railway.[3] The route was electrified in several phases. Khurda–Visakhapatnam section was completely electrified by 2002 and Howrah–Chennai route was fully electrified in 2005.[4]
